I searched Google with "word shortcut insert date", to get this page.
Shortcut to add current Date and Time in MS Office Word and Excel

Alt + Shift + D Insert the current date.
Alt + Shift + T Insert the current time.
It also works in MS Word 2010 on my PC, in addition to MS Word 2007 and earlier versions mentioned in that post.
