過由於HiHD採用 H.264壓縮格式，因此一般市售數位機上盒，以及目前所有液晶電視內建的數位電視調諧器，都無法直接觀看HiHD，而且更令人失望的是，現在市面上僅有大通HDTV-2500機上盒，能夠支援HiHD解碼播放；也就是說，如果使用者之前已經購買數位電視機上盒，或是內建數位電視訊號接收的液晶電視，還是得另外加購支援H.264壓縮規格的數位電視機上盒，才能夠收看HiHD頻道，否則雖然可以在頻道總表中發現HiHD，卻因為不支援H.264壓縮格式，導致無法觀看節目畫面。
