Counting checkbox votes in Google Forms

I think it is a good solution to use "Text to Columns" data tool first to parse the cells. And then I can count the number of cells for each items with function "countif()".

I cheated. Copied the column into Microsoft Excel and use the the "Text to Columns" option under the Data tab. Then copy the data back into Google Spreadsheet to be counted. Not the best work around but I was after quick and simple. If you have access to Excel this might be your best bet.
